Somatic Movement

What is Somatic Movement?

Somatic Movement involves a series of specific exercises that re-connect the brain with the muscles so you can let go of tension and stress in the body,

The movements are slow and mindful to allow you to feel.

Somatic movement provides a sensory feedback loop from the brain: You’ll teach your brain to notice when muscles are contracted and educate the muscles to fully release and work in a more energy-efficient and pain free manner.

Mind & Body

Mind/Body connection goes beyond performing the exercises correctly. To fully reap the benefits of movement, we need to develop the skills of internal physical perception and experience.

Somatics is not about lengthening and strengthening: the problem isn’t that the muscles are short or weak, it’s that they’re exhausted from being constantly over-contracted.
